Denis
Steer Denis’
theatrical career began during the latter part of the Second World War.
Stationed with the RAF in the princely state of Jodhpur, India, he
featured in a series of plays presented in the Palace Theatre of the
Maharajah – one of them directed by Basil Dean, a
theatrical legend of the inter-war years.
In New Delhi, he ‘walked on’ carrying a spear in John
Gielgud’s Far Eastern tour of Hamlet.
